I have been cleared for 11 years from a child support case by DNA. This person continue to tell people that I am her childs father. I recently ended up at her parents house while installing cable, I spoke to my manager to send another tech out in my place. When that tech went to install, Those people brought out pictures of me and their grandson and said I was a dead beat and that the child looked just like me etc. Is this considered slander? and would it be advisable to send them a copy of the District attorneys findings clearing me of any ties to this child and asking them to never speak my name again?
Thank you,
Exausted
Answer
You could send it, with a polite cover letter saying it is to inform and correct any misunderstanding of the facts and truth, not including any argument or 'threatening / intimidating" language.
