Question

A mobil home on my property has been sold, without an agreement with new owner who wants to move it. I have not received property damage deposit or lot rent. It has been 3 weeks.I want to lock out the touge of the mobil home until I receive payment. Can I do this?

Answer

Self help in real estate matters can be risky in terms of possible liability issues for the one who seeks to help himself. Therefore, I would recommend that you obtain the contact information for the new owner from the seller and send him a demand notice for whatever payment is due you, and, if refused or ignored, then file your case against him in small claims or other appropriate court rather than seek to pursue your recourse through the method which you've proposed.
