After a parent dies, what, if any unpaid bills, are the adult children responsible. I am especially interested in medical bills

Re: Bills of deceased
Generally the children of adecedent are not personally liable for any of the medical bills of their deceased parent. There are a few exceptions, such as where an adult child signs a request for care form that includes an agreement to guarantee payment.
The estate of a decedent is vulnerable for a claim by unpaid medical providers. This might decrease the inheritence of adult children. In a way, this is collecting from the adult children. But, that does not occur if there has been no estate opened for the deceased parent.
Good Luck
