Question

I have a Judgment for Joint Custody and visitation 3 times yearly for visiting my daughter who is autistic and lives in WI. When I go to visit her in August, and I am denied visitation, do I then file contempt in LA which is where the Judgment was issued, in order to get reimbursement and sanctions against my former spouse, or must a WI court preside over the contempt?

Answer

Unless your decree dictates otherwise, contempt is filed with the issuing court.
