What was the first production car to go 150 mph?
There first car, that was built in larger numbers - as opposed tospecially built speed record or race cars - was the Mercedes Benz300 SL (Gull-wing).

The normal top speed was 235 km/h (146 mph), but with a higher geartransmission ratio of 1:3,25 (instead of the standard 1:3,64) itreached 260 km/h , equivalent to 161.5 mph.
Production was between 1954--1963. ( After May 1957 the Gull-wingwas replaced by the Roadster)
There were 1400 gull-wings and 1858 roadsters built.
