Remember when everyone used to mimic Michael Jordan and his famous open mouthed leap. (I believe he also hung his tongue out.) It is more than likely an unconscious face that we happen to all make while concentrating, but it also happens to make mascara application a little easier. When your mouth is open and your eyes are wide open, you can tilt your head back to put mascara on your top lashes without getting it on your eyelids. Then reverse and tilt your head down to do the bottom lashes.
