okay i go a domestic battery and i got all charges dropped.why when u do a back round check it says it on there and nollie prosequte. its stopping me from getting jobs

Hello. This domestic battery charge will continue to show up on your record, until you have it expunged. You should have this done in the county and courtroom where the case was brought against you. Because the

State's Attorney chose not to prosecute you further, you are eligible to have this erased" from your record. The legal term for this is "expungement." Will be happy to discuss this with you further and in more detail.

The record of your arrest continues to show up. There is a specific process for which you are eligible to have your record essentially erased. It is called an expungement. This needs to be done by way of a petition filed in the court where the case was prosecuted. It requires notification to the state's attorney and the police department that arrested you, and the state police.
