I am a mechanic in FL and own my own business. I did an oil change and an air filter change on a car. The owner filed a complaint against me with the Better Business Bureau demanding $300.00 for damage done to her car after the tire fell off her car. Clearly this has nothing to do with what work I did to her car. I want to fight this and write a letter back to the BBB because this is not fair for me to pay her $300.00 when I did nothing wrong, but I don't know what to say. Please help me. Any advice would be great!!!
Answer
Just explain your side of it
Answer
As a Franchise Attorney I agree with the other attorney answer. The BBB has a process for handling and resolving complaints. If you didn't touch the tires as part of the oil change, just explain this to the BBB using their response forms and procedure. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
