There are 3 situations I can think of that would prompt someone to ask you for your Texas Car registration:
1. Assuming your car is registered in Texas, you are in another state, are pulled over by the police, and the officer asks to see the registration. SHOW IT TO THEM! Or would you really rather be taken into custody than get a ticket?
2. Or...if you are moving from from Texas to another state are at their department of motor vehicles to change your car registration : again, if they ask for your old state's registration, why wouldn't you give it to them? You certainly cannot have the same car registered in multiple states at the same time (legally.)
3. The 3rd would be if you had just been in a traffic accident with someone and the other driver is asking for your registration...As far as I know EVERY state requires that drivers "swap information" (Driver's License, Registration, Insurance) when there is an accident. You aren't going to GIVE them your paperwork to take, but let them see it so they can copy down information from it for their insurance companies or police reports. After all, if you do NOT show your info to the other driver he or she will probably call for the police, and then you'll have to show it to the police officer anyway. ...

That is not clay that is rust from a poorly maintained cooling system.
It's like rust silt. You'd better find a mechanic with a coolant flushing machine.
Also replace ALL the fluids seeing that whoever owned the car before you never maintained it. Change the transmission/differential/brake/blinker fluids. (I was just kidding about the blinker fluid ;-)) I'm assuming the oil has been maintained. If not please change that too or you no longer will have a ride in the future.

I reside in the state of Massachusetts. I have sole legal and physical custody of my son. His father has no visitation per order of the court. He has not paid child support or seen his son in almost 5 years. My son is entering kindergarten in September and has always assumed his last name was the same as mine. I would like to change his name to mine. Can I legally change it without fathers consent? I have a restraining order against the father due to violence. I feel notifying him will just put us at risk again. Please let me know what my legal standing is. Thank you

In order to change the child's name you need to file a Petition with the court. Based on the information above the Court may find that it is in the child's best interest to change his name.

I gave a close friend of mine temp guardianship may 7th 2013 in the state of Georgia of my now 11 month old son due to small living space it was not court ordered nor notarized I haven't seen my son in 6 months I haven't heard or spoken too my friend or my son in 2 weeks, the last time we had spoken I told her I wanted him to come home she agreed but never showed!!!! Is this illegal ?? Can I just go and get him ?? What can I do as his mother?? I feel as though I'm being robbed of mother hood and all my rights!!! Please help!!

There's no such thing as a guardianship without a court order so it sounds like your friend is actually a kidnapper. Meet with a lawyer to determine if you should just go get the child, have your friend arrested or sue your friend.

The only way your friend would have legal Guardianship is if something was filed and the court entered an order. If that were the case, you should have been notified and had the opportunity to appear in court to either consent or object. Can't imagine why you haven't seen your child in 6 months and why you waited so long. If you and your friend simply entered into a private agreement, you should be able to get your child at any time. I would document the request, i.e., put it in writing to your friend, at least by text or email. You do not need to be confrontational. Simply state you want the return of your child. You need to speak with an attorney. I would not allow this to continue.
