Can one use a 3 cylinder distributor on a 4 cylinder model car considering the four notch points slip in and match 4 point in cap.?
definitively a no no, the cam lobes on the shaft in the 3 cylander distributer will not match to open points for a 4 cylinder. you need a 4 cylinder distributor. 4 or 5 notches verses 3 notches visually different distributors with different part numbers.
