What impact did World War I have on the Australian workforce?
HI. World War 1 affected many parts of Australian society; including the workforce. Women were forced to enter the workforce and foreign labour was common. Farmers and trades were overburdened by the lack of men available for the workforce. One of the postivie affects of war wsa the fact that Australian exports boomed because of the need for wool and meat in countries such as Britain. The Labour party at the time were for the rights of workers and therefore were against ideas such as conscription.
