Question

A business owes me about $2000 from last year and they won't pay. I want to sue them, but I just found out that the corporation was closed in 2013. Apparently, even the registered agent resigned. Who would I serve with a lawsuit? If I won a judgment, is there any chance of collecting it from the previous officers or owners of the company?

Answer

You could name the owner(s) as a defendant in your small claims

court lawsuit and then see what happens in terms of what the

court may determine as to this individual's current responsibility

for your claim.
