Question

I let my cousin take over the payments on a financed vehical that he then wrecked and didnt have insurance on it. The finance company has sinced repossed the wrecked vehical and sued me for illegally selling a financed vehical( he won because i didnt show up) The finance company( just a small local car lot) is know threatening to press criminal charges aginst me for illegally selling a financed vehical. Cam he do that in the state of texas and if so what can happen to me?

Answer

NEVER PERMIT YOURSELF TO BE SUED AND NOT ANSWER....generally one cannot sell

property which has a lien on it...so see a local lawyer asap.....you are seeking legal advice a little bit late...and the "small local car lot" will probably do more against you than a big dealer..
