How are slot cars made?

How are slot cars made?
They have an electric motor inside, usually in the rear of the model car, which gets electric power from the 2 copper strips attached to the track that the car runs on. Underneath the front of the car are attached 2 brushes of braided metal mesh with wiring going to the motor.
Once the track is electrified, the brushes (which must remain in contact with the track) complete the circuit allowing the motor to spin the wheels.
