How do you set Ignition timing on ford 3.8 litre?
many of these engines (if not all) use a waste-spark type ignition system which is controlled entirely by the computer, unlike most earlier cars with adjustable distributors. the computer can be replaced or reprogrammed in order to change the ignition timing, but this is not adviseable unless you are a qualified and experienced technitian in this area, if you want to change the timing to pass a smog test, try another avenue.
