My 11 year old daughter got caught stealing a $6.00 ring from Claire's. We went to Teen Court and she was ordered to perform 24 hours community service, which she has completed. Now a lawyer for Claire's keep sending me settlement offers, pay this much and we won't sue you in civil court. Should I be worried?

I have never had one of my clients get taken to civil court over a misdemeanor theft case. I generally tell folks to ignore those letters.
