I am currently working for a cleaning service and was asked to sign an employee contract stating that I would not, during my employment or for 5 years after, divert or attempt to divert clients away from the business. I was just wondering if this is legal. Thank you.

It's legal, but it may not be enforceable because the time period is too long. 1-2 years is the norm,
