Question

I do not have an attorney and I filed for a $30 mil lawsuit for personal injury. I filed a motion for default, proposed order of judgment and final disposition form, as required. When I was evicted before and didnt answer, the judge entered the default. The defendant failed to answer for 45 days alloted. The judge put the claim on the calender. It seems unfair when they had plenty of time to answer. Is this proper in GA for the type and amount of claim?

Answer

You filed a 30 "mil" lawsuit without an attorney and do not know proper GA procedures.

Good luck with your lawsuit!

No one here will be able to answer your questions without looking at the paperwork you submitted.

If you value your claim, you will contact an attorney and pay for 30 minutes of his/her time to review your documentation. It should be relatively cheap since you're about to get 30 million!

Answer

I can't add anything to what Cyrus said except that if you don't understand what happened, you need a lawyer.

Answer

Perhaps when you were evicted, the claim was valid on its face. When someone files a $30 million lawsuit, a Judge will likely take a look at it. If just anyone could file ridiculous $30 million lawsuits all day in the hopes that one was not answered and get a judgment, many people would do it. It does not work that way.
