If a child has been adopted by the father of a married couple and they divorce. Is that child at age 12 able to chose if she wants to stay with her mother and not with the adopted father.
Answer
This question has nothing to do with the adoption. An adoptive parent has as much right to custody of the child as a biological parent. The child's wishes will be considered at age 12, but are not paramount.
