I was recently terminated from my job and the reason they gave me is because I went to the hospital an hour after my shift ended instead of during, even though I explained to them I had no transportation to the hospital until then. Is it possible they can fired me due to this and rule it a no call no show even though I gave them my hospital note? And can I sue?

What does the employee handbook state about reporting injuries?
Why didn't you report the injury while on work to a onsight or off sight manager?
