Question

Can the state keep me from driving my vehicle? It was impounded for a felony evading charge. They were going to seize the vehicle but my attorney was able to get them to release the vehicle to the co-signer. In the paperwork it says if the co-signer allows me to operate the vehicle, the co-signer would forfeit the vehicle to the state. I just don't understand if I have a legal drivers license and if Im the one still making payments and paying insurance. (I'm still the owner) I mean they wouldn't take a different vehicle away from me if I were to go trade in or buy a different vehicle. Why can't I operate the vehicle I already have?

Answer

You have a lawyer; talk to your lawyer about the issue.
